FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about using APIXORA, requesting API quotations (RFQs), comparing proposals, joining as a supplier and KDMF support.

Buyers (Korean pharma)

Is APIXORA free for Korean pharmaceutical buyers?

Yes. Korean pharmaceutical companies (buyers) are not charged a separate platform fee. All buyer features — posting RFQs, comparing supplier proposals, messaging and managing contract and order documents — are available on the same terms. Once you sign up and the operations team approves your company, you can issue RFQs right away.

How do I request a quotation (RFQ) for an active pharmaceutical ingredient?

After logging in, open 'Create RFQ', enter the API name (English recommended) and the API type as required fields, then add the CAS number, specification, expected annual volume, preferred manufacturing country, required documents, payment terms and quotation deadline. When you type the API name, CAS number candidates are suggested from the master catalog. If you set a quotation deadline, suppliers cannot submit quotes after that date.

Can I request API sourcing without logging in?

Yes. Fill in the 'sourcing request' form on the public product list (/products) with the product name, CAS number, category (API, intermediate or excipient) and your contact details, and the operations team will review it. You can also request products that are not on the list. Formal quotation comparison and contracting continue through an RFQ after you sign up.

When can I see supplier quotations (proposals)?

Proposals submitted by suppliers appear on the buyer's 'Matching results' screen after the operations team has reviewed and approved them. They therefore appear one by one as reviews are completed, not immediately after submission. If a proposal is not visible yet, it may still be awaiting approval.

What should I compare when evaluating API quotations?

Compare the unit price together with the MOQ (minimum order quantity), lead time, specification, certificates held (GMP, CEP, DMF and so on), DMF status, Incoterms, payment terms and quotation validity on the same basis. Even at the same unit price, the share of freight, insurance and customs costs differs by Incoterms. Always confirm that the currency and quantity units match.

When is the supplier's company name disclosed?

While you compare proposals, suppliers are shown under aliases such as 'Supplier #1'; once the buyer selects a proposal and the deal reaches the identity-disclosure stage, the actual company name and contact details are revealed. Conversations before disclosure take place in a brokered messenger that goes through APIXORA. By the same principle, the buyer's company name is disclosed to the supplier only step by step.

Does APIXORA handle payment and customs clearance?

No. Payment, settlement and customs clearance take place between the trading parties outside the platform. APIXORA manages the transaction documents, such as the purchase order (PO) and proforma invoice (PI), and the status of each step in one place. The split of responsibility for freight, insurance and customs is set by the Incoterms agreed in the PO and PI.

Suppliers (manufacturers & agents)

Can overseas API manufacturers join APIXORA?

Yes. Domestic and overseas manufacturers and agents of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), intermediates and pharmaceutical excipients can sign up as a company (legal entity). Sign-up requires consent to the terms of service, the privacy notice and the supplier agreement, and the account is activated after approval by the operations team. The English version of the supplier agreement is authoritative; translations are for reference.

How do suppliers receive RFQs from Korean pharmaceutical companies?

Once you register the products you can supply, buyer RFQs that match your registered products are delivered to your 'Received RFQs' screen after an operations-team check. Open the RFQ detail to review the product specification, quantity, required documents and deadline, then write your proposal. Entering product names in English and choosing the autocomplete candidate from the master catalog improves matching accuracy.

What information do I enter when registering a product?

Enter the API name (in English), CAS number, specification, API type, MOQ, manufacturing country, DMF status and certificates held. If you have many products, you can register them in one go with the Excel bulk upload. Regulatory and quality information is the basis of trust in a deal, so register only the certificates you actually hold.

Is a submitted proposal visible to the buyer immediately?

No. A submitted proposal is released to the buyer after it passes the operations team's review (approval gate). A proposal includes the unit price, MOQ, lead time, specification, Incoterms, payment terms, validity and supporting certificates, and can carry a price table with MOQ tiers per purpose (R&D, PV, Commercial). If you revise a proposal that has already been released, it is withdrawn and released again after re-approval.

Can a manufacturer without a KDMF registration submit a proposal?

Yes. Products and proposals show a DMF status chosen from 'Registered', 'Under Preparation', 'Available for Registration' and 'Not Available'. Buyers compare proposals using this status and the certificates held. If a deal requires KDMF registration, APIXORA's regulatory support is available while the registration is prepared.

How is the supplier fee determined?

APIXORA's fee applies under the supplier agreement concluded with overseas manufacturers, suppliers and agents, and the rate and conditions are stated in that agreement. Korean pharmaceutical companies (buyers) are not charged a separate platform fee. The specific terms are provided at the supplier agreement stage after sign-up.

Who operates APIXORA?

APIXORA is operated by Cell TheraOn. It launched a beta service for suppliers on June 25, 2026 and opened the full service for Korean pharmaceutical companies on August 31, 2026. Inquiries go to contact@apixora.com.

What products are traded on APIXORA?

APIXORA covers active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), API intermediates and pharmaceutical excipients. RFQs and products are classified by type, such as synthetic, peptide, biological, fermentation, steroid, hormone, high-potency (HPAPI), oncology, micronized and veterinary APIs, and herbal/botanical extracts. You can browse registered products on the public product list.

Which languages does APIXORA support?

APIXORA supports Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese; the default language is set by your access region and can be changed at the top of the screen. The messenger automatically translates incoming and outgoing messages between the four languages. Automatic translation is an aid, so trade terms such as price, quantity and specification are confirmed against the original text and the documents.

How are deal information and confidential data protected?

Only companies whose sign-up has been reviewed and approved by the operations team can use the platform, and the counterparty's company name and contact details stay hidden until the identity-disclosure stage. Conversations before disclosure take place in a brokered messenger that goes through APIXORA. Documents are shared with the counterparty only when uploaded against that deal; documents not linked to a deal are visible only to you.

Does APIXORA support KDMF registration?

Yes. APIXORA supports review of the regulatory documents needed for KDMF registration (DMF, GMP, WC, CoPP, manufacturing process data and so on), preparation and exchange of registration documents, and coordination between the manufacturer and the pharmaceutical company in linked review and in responses to MFDS deficiency requests. Progress is managed per deal. The registration filing itself and the review outcome follow the procedures of the applicant and the MFDS.
